Barcelona reveal Espanyol mosaic and Manel Vich tribute

This weekend’s Catalan derby between FC Barcelona and Espanyol will have a special mosaic. Barça announced on Wednesday that they will have a mosaic to support Luis Enrique’s team in their final home match of the season with the league title still in play.

The mosaic will read ‘Som-hi Tots!’ and will be formed by 90,000 cards which will fill Camp Nou, with the colours of the Senyera and the Blaugrana flags - ‘Let’s go, everyone!’ in English.

Barcelona have also confirmed there will be a tribute to Manel Vich, the Camp Nou public address announcer who recently passed away after working for the club for nearly 60 years.

A statement read: “In memory of Vich's unforgettable baritone voice, which greeted generations of fans at Camp Nou, the club's board of directors has agreed to play his traditional catch-phrase - "Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to the stadium" - over the PA system.

“Afterwards, though, the starting line-ups and subsequent substitutions will be made in silence, appearing only on the video scoreboard.

“Prior to kick-off, Vich will be memorialised with a moment of silence. Vich's family will be in attendance Sunday in the Josep Suñol Presidential Box.”
