Barcelona players dine to celebrate Suarez's golden boot

FC Barcelona's squad are enjoying themselves at the moment thanks to good results and prizes that they've received this week. They met up at 9pm on Thursday to enjoy a nice dinner at the Casanova Club Beach in Castelldefels, with the principal motive being to celebrate Luis Suarez's golden boot he won after netting 40 goals in La Liga last season. However they also wanted to enjoy each others' company after the 4-0 win over Manchester City on Wednesday - this is a good time to build team spirit.

Most players attended with their partners, but the first to arrive wasn't a player but a member of staff - Juan Carlos Unzue. A bit later the players and assistants came along, although much later came Neymar Jr. The other two members of the attacking trident, Luis Suarez and Leo Messi arrived together, with their partners.

One man who was certainly there was Luis Enrique, who lives just a few kilometres from the restaurant. Just two men did not turn up. One was Gerard Pique, who was injured against City and is recovering, the other is Aleix Vidal, who has been frozen out of the side.

Local authorities organised security from 8pm to allow the players to park their cars in the street, with the restaurant not having private parking. What it does have is a huge outdoor pool - so it wouldn't be a surprise if one of the dinner attendees ended up soaked from head to toe.

In any case, the celebration may go on longer than normal because training is at 3.30pm on Friday instead of the usual morning session.
