Messi closed the perfect game with a thrilling goal in stoppage time

It was an up and down game, but Barça came out on top -- just about

Barcelona produced an incredible display, refusing to give up against Real Madrid and getting their reward in the last minute through a Lionel Messi goal. Here are the player ratings...

Ter Stegen (7). Even though he may have done better on the first game, he was good for the rest of the game, making some good saves. Was also brave with the ball at his feet on more than one occasion.

Sergi Roberto (9). Sometimes struggled with Marcelo but covered the right flank well. A good performance with the best saved until the end: his brilliant run in the build up to Messi's winner.

Piqué (7). Madrid looked to get behind him and at times he struggled to deal with Ronaldo. Forced two great saves from Navas, although he may feel he should have scored the second chance, which came at 2-1.

Umtiti (7). A little nervous early on and almost gave a penalty away for a clumsy clash with Ronaldo in the second minute. But he improved as the game went on and we tidy on the ball.

Jordi Alba (7). Ended the game as more of a winger than a defender. Barça had to take those risks to get the win. With Neymar missing, he was the outlet on the left and he laid on Messi's winner.

Busquets (7). Even though Madrid started well, Busquets grew into the game. He is a vital player for this Barcelona side.

Rakitic (7). Set up the first goal for Messi and then scored the second with a brilliant strike from outside the area.

Iniesta (7). The captain refound his form after some up and down performances. Controlled and directed Barcelona's play, although he did tire late on.

Messi (10). Huge. An incredible game. Had to deal with Casemiro's constant fouls and an elbow from Marcelo which drew blood, but he kept going. Scored a brilliant opener and then the winner in stoppage time. Ended the game holding his shirt up in front of the Madrid fans -- it was his 500th goal for Barcelona.

Suárez (7). Fought hard but didn't have a lot of success. Wasted the chances that came his way -- or was denied by Navas -- on a tricky night.

Alcácer (7). Came in for Neymar and did what Luis Enrique wanted. Had one good chance, but saw his shot saved by Navas. Came off for Gomes.
