Barcelona player ratings as Neymar takes La Real apart

Claudio Bravo 6

Didn't have a save to make. A couple of early scares when playing short passes with Alves and his distrubution varied from good to poor throughout.

Dani Alves 8

Crossed for Neymar to fire home the opener, before setting Suarez up with another cross from the right.

Gerard Pique 7

Stroked the ball around confidently to start various Barcelona attacks. In a rich vein of form.

Javier Mascherano 7

A solid performance, back in the side after missing out against Roma with a bruised thigh. One good interception in the box helped his team-mates out.

Jeremy Mathieu 6

Provided the assist for Neymar's second goal but Real Sociedad caused him a couple of problems and he didn't seem particularly sure of himself at left-back.

Sergio Busquets 7

As ever, the glue that helps string together the attack, midfield and defence. Barcelona were dominant and he was a big part of that.

Ivan Rakitic 7

Looked better than in several other games this season. Finding his best form. Full of energy in the middle.

Andres Iniesta 9

Hit the post with a header and played a majestic ball during the move for goal No 2. Also contributed to the third and was consistently a thorn in la Real's side.

Lionel Messi 8

Nonchalantly flicked the ball to Dani Alves in the build up for the first goal. Fired into the side-netting and also forced the keeper to make a save, before hitting the bar lake on - not as lethally accurate as normal.

Luis Suarez 7

Foiled by Geronimo Rulli when sent through but took his goal brilliantly well. Very similar to his strike against Roma.

Neymar 10

Clinically finished for the opener, making up for his failed attempt at going around the keeper earlier. Scored the second goal too, from close range. Was Barcelona's main threat, buzzing around like a wasp, and managed to set one up for Messi too.

Adriano 6

A good burst down the right nearly helped create a goal.

Jordi Alba 6

Given a well-deserved rest and just cruised after coming on.

Marc Bartra 6

Had little of note to do.
