The defender was not at his best, inefficient on his flank when it came to getting forward. His team-mates didn't help him much to be fair.

Played at right centre-back. Unstoppable in the air, but was a bit insecure when it came to dealing with the ball with his feet, giving it away a bit too much - not in dangerous areas though.

Jeremy Mathieu 6

Didn't seem to have a lot of confidence but bit by bit increased his security and ended up doing well. 

Jordi Alba 7

Very active, flying up the left helped his team when it came to looking for attacking solutions. Ended up limping - hopefully it's nothing because with Busquets out, we have enough injuries from Ipurua.

Taken off after 10 minutes when Escalada's violent tackle hurt his ankle.

Ivan Rakitic 7

Started at right interior but ended up as pivote when Busquets went off. Had problems at first but eventually worked himself out and was a lot calmer. Fine second half.

Arda Turan 6

Lots of physical confrontations with Eibar's players, eventually got booked. But compared to Escalera he was an angel.

Lionel Messi 9

Once again the best. Everything makes sense when Leo is on the ball. His play was magisterial, notching in the second half and showing again that The Best can only be him. Sorry Cristiano.

Luis Suarez 7

Fought and in the end got his prize. Hit the post in the first half but scored after the break and set up Messi for a goal.

Neymar 8

The Brazilian was in the first half the most dangerous player, but also the most imprecise in the final yards ahead of goal. In the end he scored and at least it was not a penalty.
