Has some doubts at times with high balls but it didn't make him nervous. Used his experience to keep his clean sheet without too much swagger.

Sergi Roberto 7

Played well, keeping things simple despite intense Sevilla pressure. Suffered in defence a little and helped pragmatically in attack.

Lacks fitness still but always does a good job in the middle, attent in his area and worked well with team-mates.

Javier Mascherano 7

Sevilla didn't allow him a second on the ball, forcing the Argentine to concentrate from the first minute.

The Frenchman was injured after 25 minutes - and had problems down his flank before that.

Not fresh yet but his legs responded to his privileged mind with precision. Without being 100 per cent his football loses a little, but it will come with time.

A player that relies on his physical strengths a lot, and he is still in pre-season mode. However he put ina lot of effort, as always.

Injured in a tackle in the first half. Before that he couldn't get into the game and connect with his team-mates.

Each time the ball reached his boots, Sevilla's defence trembled. Without being brilliant he threatened Sergio Rico's goal more than anyone bar Suarez.

Had two clear chances, one of those in the first half, before he opened the scoring. He's often the man who ends up breaking the resistance. 

Arda Turan 7

His attitude in pre-season is totally different to last year's. He's not enjoying himself completely yet but each time he plays he does more. Set up Suarez for the first goal with a good chest.

Came on for Iniesta in the first half. Was 'plugged in' during the second, when he was key in the first goal and showed he has come here to start games.

While the club looks for an extra forward, he does what he does. Came on and scored after a good pass from Messi.
