Barcelona player ratings after disappointing draw against Hercules

It was the B team players that most impressed in the Catalan side's Copa del Rey game

CILLESSEN (6) The Dutch stopper performed as expected and could do little about the goal.

ALEIX VIDAL (7) One of the major positives. Luis Enrique has recovered another player for the cause. Good bringing the ball forward, passed well and always looked to create problems from right-back.

UMTITI (6) Came through 67 minutes on his return from injury, which is the best news. Played as the right centre-back and he looked uncomfortable early on. Little by little he began to find some rhythm, though. For the goal his desperate dive couldn't connect with the ball.

BORJA LOPEZ (4) A disappointing showing from the centre-back, who let the ball go in the build up to Mainz's opening goal. Looked nervous and shy and didn't take advantage of his height in the air.

DIGNE (4) A poor display from the left-back save one shot which drew a decent save. Poorly positioned for the home side's goal, arriving late at the back post. Ended the game playing as a centre-back!

CARBONELL (6) In Sergio Busquets' position, the B team player did well. He didn't make any errors and was able to hold on to possession. Lacked a little conviction at times, though, but this was a pass-able debut.

ALEÑA (7) Really active in the game, even though sometimes he looked a little unsure when it came to making decision on his final pass. But in the end he made the difference with a spectacular strike from distance. Taken off afer 75 minutes for Marc Cardona.

DENIS SUAREZ (6) Was the stand out player in the first half and demonstrated clear ideas. In the second half he wasn't as impressive, but he was one of the few who looked to stick to Barça's style.

RAFINHA (4) Debuted as captain but it has to be said that the armband did literally nothing for him. NEver looked comfortable.

ALCACER (4) Won a free-kick early on and drew a save with his resulting set piece effort. Took a deflection and nearly deceived the goalkeeper, but it wasn't to prove his first Barcelona goal.

ARDA TURAN (6) A game of ups and downs for the Turkish player. Some good moments but others which belied a player of his experience -- and there were few with more than him on the pitch.

SUBSTITUTES   ANDRE GOMES (5)

Came on in defensive midfield and had a great headed chance, but place the ball straight at the goalkeeper.

NILI (5) A run out at left-back, even though he's usually a right-back.

CARDONA (7) Despite the lateness of his intorduction, he had two good chances. One was a decent strike which was well saved and the other was with his head.
