Barcelona are close to closing a deal for one of the most important signings at youth level for next season. Nastic centre-midfielder Josep Calavera is set to sign a long-term deal with the club and he has huge potential.
There is a deal between the clubs and the player because Barcelona are acting quickly, knowing other sides are interested in him from La Liga. He plays as a pivot, and his football is reminiscent of Sergio Busquets. The Barcelona technical team hope he can model himself on the current midfield star.
Calavera will turn 18 at the end of the season and is likely to join Barcelona B directly. This year he has been playing in Nastic's B team and for the first team in Copa Catalunya matches. The player has also attracted Real Madrid and Valencia, but Barcelona have pushed for his signature.
He is the brother of Jordi Calavera, who was also formed at Nastic and plays for Lugo on loan from Eibar. Jordi is an impressive full-back and various Spanish and English clubs are interested in him.
