Barcelona midfielder Rafinha says his career is over... as a model

The Brazilian broke his nose and suffered a deep cut in Saturday's league game

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha has thanked fans for their messages of support after he broke his nose during the win against Athletic Club.

Rafinha also took a large cut to the head, just above his eye, after an unfortunate clash with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the 53rd minute of the 3-0 victory.

Since then, the Hispanic-Brazilian has been inundated with message from team-mates, friends and supporters and he's wanted to show his appreciation on Instagram.

And he also joked that the injuries he sustained will bring an end to his career as a model.

"Thanks for the messages of support," he wrote. "I'm fine, I will be back ion no time. But my career as a model is over!"

Rafinha did not train on Sunday and will not feature against Atletico Madrid in Tuesday's Copa del Rey semifinal second leg, but he could be back by the weekend wearing a protective mask.
