Lucho says that some media lie more than they speak

He had been asked about Valverde taking over this summer

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique said goodbye to the La Liga season on Sunday by sending a message to the media. After a game which should have been calm, with Lucho saying adios to Camp Nou with a hard-fought win and a tribute from the home fans, the Barça coach had to put a stain on it.

With the game over and speaking to beIN Sports, Luis Enrique sent a messafe to the media, who it's fair to say he's never had a great relationship with.

Asked by Ricardo Rosety about the reports Ernesto Valverde will be his replacement in the Catalan capital, Luis Enrique replied: "You shouldn't truse the media because they lie more than they speak."

On missing out the title and Real Madrid's win in Malaga he had started: "We weren't especially aware of the [Madrid] game, but by the reaction of the fans we could tell that things weren't going as we wanted."

There was also a tribute to Luis Enrique for his final game and he said: "I have heard chants at the ground in my favour in nearly every game that I've coached. So in that sense, there was nothing different [about today]."

After saying that the Copa del Rey would be a good way to end the season, Luis Enrique then changed when asked by Rosety about reports in El Correo saying the Valverde deal to Barça was done and the players had been told.

"There has been no communication in that sense and on top of that I don't think you should trust in the media because the majority of them lie more than they speak," was Lucho's response to the rumours.
