Barcelona keeping tabs on a second Paulinho in Brazil

Paulinho Sampaio Filho , 17, is impressing with Vasco da Gama

Brazil has always been the home of precocious talent. The most recent shares a name with a Barcelona player and could follow him to Camp Nou: Paulinho.

Paulinho Henrique Sampaio Filho is a 17-year-old forward from Rio who has been in the news for breaking a record set by another Barça player, Philippe Coutinho, after becoming the youngest every player to score for Vasco da Gama.

Barça are keeping tabs on the youngster, who last season praised as the revelation of the Brazilian league ahead of Arthur and Vinicius Junior, two players with moves to Barça and Real Madrid already in place.

Despite his robust appearance, Paulinho has a deft touch on the ball and is decisive in the final third. Without doubt, though, one of his strengths is his finishing from distance, as has been seen with Brazil's youth teams.

He can play on both flanks, where he cuts in towards the area. Even through he's still a teenager, he's already an important player for Vasco and has scored three goals and created two more this season.

Paulinho's release clause is 30 million euros, an amount which a number of European clubs may be prepared to pay in the future.
