Golovin is one of the biggest prospects in Russian football

Robert Fernandez went to watch him in Basel on Tuesday

Aleksandr Golovin is one of the players on Robert Fernandez's radar. Barcelona's sporting director has been following the CSKA Moscow youngster and watched the Russian side's game against Basel in Switzerland on Tuesday.

Robert also wanted to see Basel's defender Manuel Akanji in action but it is Golovin who has most caught the Catalan club's attention.

Golovin, 21, is a regular in Viktor Gancharenko's side and has played 92 games for the club. The midfielder is the side's lungs in midfield and is a complete player: quick, good technique, aggressive, presses well...

An international with Russia, Golovin is expected to be one of his country's best players at the World Cup next summer and hopes have been pinned on him since he helped Russia's U19s win the European Championships in 2015.

Golovin has previously been followed by Arsenal, but CSKA rejected an offer of around 10 million pounds for the player. He could be available for around 20 million euros, though.
