Barcelona have second appeal against Lionel Messi booking rejected

The Appeal Committee were not in agreement with the Catalan club over the yellow card Lionel Messi picked up in Seville

The Appeal Committee rejected Barcelona’s appeal over the ridiculous booking Lionel Messi received at the Sanchez-Pizjuan against Sevilla which the Competition Committee maintained against the club’s complaint.

Messi was booked for time-wasting after Steven N’Zonzi’s tackle saw him lose his boot. Referee Jaime Latre showed him the yellow card in the 83rd minute of the game.

The Competition Committee fined Barcelona 180 euros, rejecting Barcelona’s appeal with a video. The club took the debate to the next level although that served for nothing too.

They said that Messi was wasting time in the personal opinion of the referee, which was not something that could be disagreed with, while the episode lasted a minute and a half, which was “sufficient time to consider it was being deliberately wasted”.

Barcelona could now head to the Administrative Tribunal of Sport to make the next appeal, within 15 days.
