Barça's Marca Bartra plan: renew his contract and loan him out

Barcelona don’t plan on letting Marc Bartra leave, despite the fact his release clause has dropped to eight million euros.

The player, too, is not going to throw in the towel and abandon his dream of making it at FC Barcelona, the club he joined when he was 11.

Both stances are close together and far apart at the same time, but there is a solution. The defender is aware that, at the moment, his chances of establishing himself in the first team are minimal.

His lack of minutes under Luis Enrique are an argument for leaving this summer, but leaving definitely? Neither the player nor the club want that.

Sporting director Robert Fernandez said on Thursday: “We will look for the best for Marc. I don’t want him to unlink from the club, because he possesses fantastic quality.

“He needs to play, though. I won’t let him leave [permanently].”

The option the club have found is the following: Bartra has a contract until 2018. They want him to go to another club for these two years where he can take a step forward, it would be a step which would allow him to return to Camp Nou ready to be a regular.

Barça have already spoke with the defender about his and he’s ready to accept it. The club plan to renew his contract so that he has two years away from the club and after that returns, with at least another two years on his contract.

The idea is to offer him terms until 2020, therefore, which will be for years: two years away from Camp Nou and two years back at home.

Bartra’s happy and his agents (Carles Puyol and Ivan de la Pena) and Robert Fernandez are looking for the right team which would adapt to his style of play.

The Premier League has been eliminated as they feel given his physical condition, it would not be the best competition for him. They have looked for options in Spain and in other leagues.

There has been contact with Villarreal, who don’t seem interested, and Borussia Dortmund, who would like him. No decision has been taken but they don’t want to delay it too long.

The perfect solution would be to find a club that likes Bartra with a forward wanted by Luis Enrique. Then there could be a swap deal.

That’s the reason, for now, Bartra and his agents continue to work to find a club which suits both parties. However, it would be difficult to crown things off that way.
