Barcelona have had three meetings over Saul Niguez

The conversation has been fluid but Saul's price is high and he is not one of their top priorities
Saul Niguez has been a doubt for Barcelona in recent times. The club could have signed him from Atletico Madrid a year ago and this year they have retrodden old ground but not taken the decisive step of making him one of their priorities. The midfielder has been playing very well for two season and is at the U21 Euros, but for now if Barcelona brought him in it would be a big surprise.
Sporting director Robert Fernadnez has met on several occasions with the player's people. The contact via telephone has been fluid too. Barcelona want to stay up to date on the situation and he is a player who would fit well into their schemes. Barcelona had an option to buy on Saul last summer which they gained when they sold David Villa to Atletico, and in the end the midfielder renewed his deal. Now his release fee clause is 80 million euros. His departure from Atletico will be very tough - although several Premier League clubs are still interested.
