Barcelona have to complain about this refereeing

Diego Simeone said it weeks ago: “After one La Liga in seven years, they’re preparing for Real Madrid to win it. It will be tough for the others.” At that moment, the Atletico Madrid manager’s quotes seemed disproportionate. But after just two La Liga games, we can see that Simeone had reason, because the actions of the referees are prejudicing Barcelona.

Against Malaga, at Camp Nou, there was another poor refereeing performance. This time, though, it wasn’t by an referee from Madrid, but it was by a referee who lives in Madrid, where he is in the army. Jaime Latre made several errors. There were two penalties not given (one for handball and another for a foul on Luis Suarez) and he ruled out a Suarez goal for a supposed push. These are decisions which are clearly prejudicing Barça.

It’s still too soon, but the time may come when the club needs to act officially. They cannot remain silent. What is becoming clear is that Barça will have to play much better than their rivals this season to have a chance. Much, much better. It’s something which Pep Guardiola said during his time at the club. Fortunately, Barcelona are capable of overcoming these obstacles and still winning matches, just like they did against Malaga on Saturday with a goal from… Vermaelen!!!

Three more points, but the feeling is that this sensation is going to be very difficult in La Liga if the officials do not improve.
