Barcelona have been a nightmare for Sevilla in la Liga

Sevilla, who welcome Barcelona on Saturday, have not won once in their last 11 matches against the Catalan side, and have not beaten them in La Liga since the 2006-07 season.

Since that day, when Aleksandr Kerzhako and Dani Alves scored goals cancelled out Ronaldinho's opener, Sevilla and Barcelona have met 22 times in all competitions, with the Andalusian winning twice -- once in the Copa and another in the Spanish Super Cup.

It was in the latter competition when Sevilla last got the better of Barça (3-1 with two goals from Frederic Kanoute and another from Luis Fabiano, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored for the Blaugrana), but the triumph was cancelled out by Barcelona's 4-0 win in the second leg.

In the league, the Andalusian side are now 16 games without a win against the Catalans, since that triumph in March, 2007. During the time since that win they have lost 12 games (five at home and seven away) and drawn four times (three at home and one away).

After the arrival of Unai Emery in the dugout, who himself has not beaten Barça as a coach in 20 meetings, Sevilla lost four games in a row against Barcelona, until the came from two goals down in April to earn a 2-2 draw.

Despite their recent fortunes, the balance overall between these two teams in games played in Seville favours the hosts. They have obtained 29 victories, drawn 20 times and lost 22 matches.
