Barcelona given all clear to sign Valencia striker Paco Alcacer

Paco Alcacer is determined to sign for Barcelona and the striker has revealed that he wants to join the Spanish champions.

Los Che were initially working to finalise negotiations but backed away in the closing stages to avoid a backlash from their supporters.

Alcacer has chosen to remain silent and awaits events to unfold after already speaking with Barça's sporting director, Robert Fernandez, to reveal his intentions to move to the Camp Nou.

The Spaniard has five years of experience in La Liga scoring 43 goals in 123 appearances for Valencia and has accepted his squad role in Catalonia, which is likely to see him placed fourth in the attacking pecking order behind the "MSN" trio.

Barça understand that their offer must be in the region of 30 million euros plus variables if they are to acquire the 22-year-old.

Valencia owner Peter Lim has delayed his response regarding the transfer and the future of Alcacer has been up in the air ever since, but it's now expected that the deal will be confirmed before the start of the league season on Saturday, when the Blaugrana host Real Betis.
