FC Barcelona get the better of Real Madrid on social media

FC Barcelona have accrued another win over Real Madrid. This time not on the pitch, but on social media. Barça have overtaken their rivals once again.
It appears that Barcelona and Real Madrid are the most popular Spanish brands on social media, with 172 million and 166 million followers respectively, according to a study by SocialScene.
The report analyses social media and is dedicated to determining the world’s most influential brands.
Both Barça and Madrid are the most followed brands, ahead of companies such as Zara, Mango and Bershka.

Real Madrid: 166.806.340 followers

Mango: 16.770.736 followers
Bershka: 13.176.354 followers
Pull&Bear: 8.222.118 followers

On a worldwide level, however, Barcelona are knocked into second place, beaten only by Facebook, while Real Madrid dropped to fourth, behind Nike.
