Barcelona fans vote for Lionel Messi NOT to start the Clasico
Barcelona fans have voted on SPORT over whether they want Lionel Messi to start in the Clasico and the majority have said they would not play the Argentine from the off.
Of 3,599 votes, the results are:
NO: 79% (2,837 votes) YES: 21% (762 votes)
It's clear that Barcelona fans do not want to run any risks with Messi and prefer him to start the game on the bench. He could always then come on and join Neymar and Luis Suarez if things aren't going well for Luis Enrique's team.
Messi has been out of action since September 26 when he damaged his knee against Las Palmas. That's a long time to not play for to suddenly make your comeback in a Clasico.
The last word will be Messi's. It will depend on how he feels on the day of the game, whether he starts or is on the bench. The medical department will have their say too.
