Barcelona confirm the signing of Nigerian winger Ezekiel Bassey

The 20-year-old will play for the club's B team on loan until the end of the season

FC Barcelona announced a second signing on Tuesday with the incorporation of Nigerian winger Ezekiel Joseph Bassey to Barça B on loan until the end of season.

A statement confirmed: “FC Barcelona and Enyimba International Football Club have reached an agreement for the loan of Ezekiel Joseph Bassey until the end of the season.

“Bassey will form part of the B team and included in the deal is the option to sign him on a two-year deal in the summer. The Nigerian attacker will undergo a medical at the club later on Tuesday.”

Bassey is a 20-year-old winger, who currently plays for Enyimba and can also play more centrally if required.

As the club explained, there's an option to make the deal permanent on a two-year deal in the summer providing he passes a medical on Tuesday.

He joins a Barça B side who leader their division in Segunda B to strengthen Gerard Lopez's side in their bid to return to the second tier of Spanish football.

Barça's first deadline day signing came in the form of Uruguayan centre-back Santiago Bueno.
