The right-back was due to miss the Copa final through suspension anyway

His season is over with his club but he will still join up with Spain in June

Sergi Roberto ends the season injured after Barcelona confirmed he will be out for 10 days with a groin injury.

However, the academy graduate was already set to miss the Copa del Rey final through suspension so it won't affect his participation in any more Barca games this season.

"Tests carried out on Monday on the player Sergi Roberto confirm that he has a pulled groin muscle in his left leg and that he will be out of action for around 10 days," the Catalan club revealed.

"The Barça right-back had to be replaced at half time in the game against Eibar by Andre Gomes."

The 25-year-old's objective is to be back in time for Spain's games in June after being named in Julen Lopetegui's squad last week.

Spain play Colombia in Murcia in a friendly on June 7 and then four days later have an important World Cup qualifier in Macedonia.

As well as Roberto, Barcelona are also represented in the Spain squad by Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta.
