Barcelona confirm plan to bring Denis Suarez back from Villarreal

Barcelona’s sporting director Robert Fernandez has revealed the club have notified Villarreal of their intention to sign Denis Suarez.

After confirming Dani Alves’ departure from Barça, Robert was asked about who will be leaving and who will be coming in during the summer transfer window.

And he admitted that Luis Enrique will be boosted by the return of Suarez next season.

“Villarreal have already been told about [Barcelona’s interest] in re-signing the player,” he admitted, adding that the deal should be done on July 1.

There is little Villarreal can do to prevent losing the Spain midfielder as Barça have a buy-back clause which allows them to sign him for 3.25 million euros this summer.

Suarez spent time on loan with Sevilla before joining Villarreal in a complicated deal last summer, but now looks set to return to Camp Nou, where he previously spent a year with Barça B.

If he's sold during his first season back at Barça, Villarreal will receive 50 percent of the sale. If he's sold the season after, it drops to 25 percent.
