Barcelona boss Luis Enrique: I'm in favour of making January signings

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique Martinez once again suggested the club could make signings when the transfer window opens in January.

"When the market opens, I'm in favour of strengthening the squad. You always have to improve, to think of the things you can change. This season - be that because of injuries or players leaving - there is a difference. I'm always in favour of improving," the Asutian said.

Luis Enrique also spoke about Barça's good form following the spectacular wins against Real Madrid and Roma over the last week. "We only won three points in Madrid and in the Champions League we reached the last 16. There is still a lot to do and we have still not achieved anything. It's allowed out idea to gain strength and we are in a good moment, but there's a long way to go and it's at the end of the season when the titles are won."

Messi's return to fitness is the big news, especially the level he's returned at. "Messi looks, as I think we have all seen. He is not 100 percent, he needs more games to find his rhythm, but he has enough to make the difference. Now he needs minutes to reach the best condition possible," Luis Enrique added.

On Real Sociedad, who play Barça at Camp Nou on Saturday, he is convinced Eusebio has improved them and that they will be a dangerous rival. "We have one game as a reference [since Eusebio took charge], but that's allowed us to see what Eusebio wants from his team. In that game you could see the pressure and the way they tried to manage the ball. We already know [Eusebio]. We know he likes to play football - they will make things difficult."

However, away from what La Real can do, Luis Enrique pointed out that "the rival can plan their game, but if Messi is on form, in one moment he can grab the three points and finish the game."

Luis Enrique also confirmed that Sergi Roberto will not be fit for the game after suffering an injury against Roma. In contrast, Javier Mascherano is back and will be in the squad.
