Barcelona asking for 12m euros for Marc Bartra this summer

The future of Marc Bartra lies away from Barcelona. The player, who has fallen out of Luis Enrique's plans, has decided to end his era as a Barcelona player and will move away in the summer. His agents met with the club to discuss the situation - his lack of minutes. Both sides are sure the best optiion for the defender is not to put down his arms this season yet, because he could still be useful, but to look for an exit in June. Barcelona will listen to offers from €12million and retain a buy-back fee clause - this is not Bartra's moment, but nobody doubts his quality.

This has not been an easy season for Bartra. He decided to stay last summer after not finding any adequate offers. He spoke with Luis Enrique and understood he would be fighting with four other players for one of the centre-back positions. He quickly saw it would be tricky. He played a few minutes here and there, but never in the big games, and lately he's been one of the players left out of the squad entirely the most.

The reality is the technical team are worried about his performances lately. They think he's one of the best defenders in Europe if at his best, and hope he can recover his level. The player has arrived at the conclusion that they are not going to use him and he would be better off leaving. His agents have received a lot of offers, but few captivating ones.

Barcelona intend to sign a quality centre-back, so Bartra will be better off leaving. They know he will be valued by other sides, so are looking for €12m - though his release clause is 50m. A re-buy option will be non-negociable.

There was an offer from Fiorentina in January, but Lucho ruled out his exit then. He didn't want to complicate things before the end of the season. La Viola are still interested but want to negotiate the price, and it depends if they get into the Champions League - Bartra only wants to sign for one of those sides.

In the Premier League he is liked too, with Manchester United making an enquiry, but nothing more. The most attractive option could be Pochettino's tottenham, if they get into the UCL. Porto are interested too, though this would be the last choice for the player who is going through his last few months as a Barcelona player.
