Barcelona are open to selling defender Yerry Mina this summer
The Blaugrana will speak with the Colombian after the World Cup
The decision has been taken and it has the blessing of Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde. Yerry Mina will not continue with the Catalan club and it's not been ruled out that he could be transferred if an offer arrives which satisifes all parties involved. The new signing committee will open the door for the Colombian to continue adapting to European football elsewhere and will close their defence with the arrival of Clement Lenglet and the continuity of Thomas Vermaelen.
Barça are satisfied with the professionalism shown by Yerry Mina and understand that it's not been easy for him to succeed at Barça. He arrived half way through the season and had to work hard to get up to pace. Valverde gave him some chances, but always made it clear that he preferred others. In principle, Barça wanted to give him a second chance in preseason and potentially another year, but the signing of Arthur means they need to free up a non-EU space.
Mina is currently at the World Cup with Colombia and there will not be talks until his involvement in Russia ends. It will be then when Barça communicate their decision to him and help him find a new team. It's most likely that he goes on loan for a season, but Barça understand that there are various teams interested in him who would prefer a permanent deal.
In fact, Mina had a number of offers when he left Palmeiras, but Barça already had him tied down. They exercised their option to buy for around 15 million euros, a fee several English clubs could pay without any problems. At the moment, all options are open. The only thing which is clear is that he will not spend next season at Camp Nou.
One Spanish side who have shown an interest is Real Betis, who are also keen on Munir. But Barça believe the characteristics of the Premier League would suit the centre-back much better. Some teams have asked about his situation but they have gone no further than that yet. When Mina's back from the World Cup, that's when it will be time to talks.
