Barcelona are in Brazil to negotiate the future of Fluminense's Gerson

FC Barcelona executive Raul Sanllehi is in Brazil to negotiate the future of Fluminense player Gerson, who Barça have the first option on signing. Juventus, who are currently in talks with the Catalan club over Paul Pogba, have also made an offer for the Brazilian.

Juve's offer is worth 16 million euros, plus 20 percent of any future sale. It's an offer which Fluminense are prepared to accept, so Barça now have five days to decide whether they will match the offer or not. Remember that Barça already have first priority on Gerson due to a 3.6 million fee previously paid.

Sanllehi's presence in Brazil is to negotiate with Fluminense. As Barça are in an electoral process, Sanllehi has asked to postpone the decision, but Fluminense are not willing to do so. For the next few hours, therefore, a meeting will take place between Raul Sanllehi and Peter Siemsen, the president of the Brazilian club.

Fluminense would prefer Gerson to sign for FC Barcelona, because he would not join the club until January, when FIFA's ban on the Catalan club signing players ends. If Juve sign him, he would head to Italy this month.
