Joshua Kimmich is wanted by a number of top European clubs

Bayern have said it would take more than 50 million euros to sell

Manchester City and Barcelona were ready to spend up to 50 million euros to sign Bayern Munich's emerging star Joshua Kimmich, according to SportBild.

City and Barça stepped up their interest but Bayern's sporting director, Michael Reschke, is quoted as saying it would take a lot more for the German club to sell the defender.

“Joshua has a much higher transfer value," he said. "And I believe that FC Bayern wouldn’t give Jo up even for 50 million euros.”

If Kimmich opted to sign for City, he would be reunited with his former coach at Bayern, Pep Guardiola. However, in Germany, they doubt whether the player would be ready to quit the Bundesliga.

A move to Camp Nou is also contemplated as a possibility due to his versatility.

Kimmich has been linked with City in the last two transfer windows as he was not satisfied with the amount of minutes he was getting under Carlo Ancelotti. However, he seems happier since the Italian left.
