Barcelona 3-0 Bayern Munich: Player ratings as Leo hits the perfect 10

TER STEGEN (7): Did well on the few occasions Bayern tested he was awake. Good with his team and helped the team play from the back.

ALVES (8): Gave the pass which Messi received to make it 1-0, which involved nutmegging an opponent before he released the ball. Joined in the attacks regularly and almost scored, but was denied by Neuer just before half time. Flirted with danger when he hauled down Lewandowski in the second half right on the edge of the area, getting away with a booking.

PIQUE (8): Made one mistake in the first half, but was in control after that. Very attentive and precise with his passing.

MASCHERANO (7): The 'Jefecito' honoured his nickname once again. He was a reference at the back and cleared up some danger with some tactical fouls.

ALBA (7): Incisive and quick up and down the left flank.

BUSQUETS (7): Tried to keep the order in a game of high intensity. He didn't make things easy for Bayern. Brought balance to the side and sacrificed himself for the good of the team defensively.

INIESTA (7): Played a more direct, box-to-box role and didn't see a great deal of the ball as he'd have liked. When he had the ball, he handled it with care.

RAKITIC (7): Worked so hard for the team, leading Barca's pressing and constantly winning the ball back. Robbed the ball in the build up to the second. He gave Luis Enrique's side oxygen. Had one shot, but wasn't regularly involved in the final third.

LUIS SUAREZ (7): Didn't have his best shooting boots on, but he changed them for an ability to press and recover the ball. Shone in his defensive work. Neuer denied him the chance to make it 1-0 just after 10 minutes into the game.

MESSI (10): If anyone doubted his place as No.1 in football, they should watch this win over Bayern. It was an exhibition from Messi. Scored two goals in the final 15 minutes to change the direction of the game. The second was a work of art: leaving Boateng on the floor and lifting the ball over Neuer. And the game ended with Camp Nou singing his name — loudly.

NEYMAR (7): Worked hard and showed willing, but it was not his night until he scored in stoppage time.

Subsitutes:

XAVI (7): Gave more control when he came on with the score already 2-0.
