The former Sevilla player will not be part of any potential transfer

Barcelona want to sign Sevilla's Clement Lenglet and have told his agents. There will be a meeting next week when the player should communicate his desire to move to Camp Nou.

Barça and Sevilla have spoken and there was a chance that Aleix Vidal could be inlcuded in the deal, but in the end that's been ruled out.

The Andalusian club like Vidal, but they don't want to mix two deals. They are demanding Barça pay Lenglet's release clause: 30 million euros.

Lenglet's agents have met with Barça on more than one occasion. In fact, talks intensified a month and a half ago and the potential signing advanced in April.

The Blaugrana were always aware that Sevilla wouldn't drop the release clause, but wanted to do the deal in a friendly way. For that reason, they were ready to pay more than 30 million if in installments and also had Vidal up their sleeve, something Sevilla will not contemplate.

Vidal was close to returning to Sevilla in January but a deal was impossible. They offered to take him on loan with an option to buy for eight million which Barca turned down.

At the last minute, Barça backtracked and were prepared to do a deal if the option to buy became obligatory, but Sevilla did not accept.
