Barça won't push for Douglas Costa, who is off to Juventus

Douglas Costa was one of the names Barcelona had on the table to strengthen the first team in wide areas, as revealed by SPORT. However, the Catalan club have decided not to follow up their interest in the Bayern Munich forward.
Instead, the Brazilian international will close a deal with Juventus in the coming weeks, as revealed by the Italian press on Wednesday. While Costa was with his national team in Australia, his agent has been in Turin talking terms -- he will earn six million euros per season.
The next step if for a deal to be agreed between Juve and Bayern.
In principle, the Bundesliga champions want 50 million euros, but Juve believe they can reduce that fee, keeping in mind the player already had no intention of remaining where he is.
Under the orders of Pep Guardiola, the best manager on the planet, Douglas Costa initially impressed at Bayern in 2015-16. Last season was a different story. He suffered injury problems and didn't have a great understanding with Carlo Ancelotti. In the winter he decided he would leave Bayern this summer after two years in Germany.
The next year will be key in his career as he looks to earn a regular place in the Brazil squad going into the World Cup next summer. Juve has assured him he will play regularly and he will have a season to convince selecao coach Tite of his worth.
