Barça win another trophy - La Liga Promises

Barcelona’s Infantil B team became champions of the La Liga Promises courtesy of a victory over Valencia (4-3) in the final in Miami.

Winning the title did not come easily for Sergi Mila’s side. In fact, you could say Barcelona started the game behind, given Cristian Valera opened the scoring very early on.

A short while later, though, Barça levelled though Mamadou. From that point on, the Blaugrana appeared calmer, although neither of the two sides were able to regularly create chances.

Just before the break, Valera took advantage of some indecision to once again give Los Che the lead. But there was still time for Pau Servat to level things up before half-time, scoring one of the goals of the tournament.

Barça were more dominant in the second half and soon took the lead through a strike from Moriba Kourouma. Five minutes later, the same player, who scored both goals in the semi-final, made it 4-2.

Valera did complete his hat-trick to set up a nervy ending, but Barcelona held out to lift the trophy.

Here was Barça’s route to success:

Group phase: Barça 4-1 Crystal Palace 1; Barça 1-1 Villarreal; Barça 3-0 Weston

Quarter-final: Barça 2-1 Celta Vigo

Semi-final: Barça 2-0 Villarreal

Final: Barça 4-3 Valencia
