The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid but Barça plan to launch one more bid to convince PSG

Real Madrid's arrival on the scene when it comes to Neymar is forcing FC Barcelona's hand. Despite the deal looking further and further from Barça's grasp, the club won't throw in the towel and plan to fight to ensure that Neymar comes back to the Camp Nou this summer.

The major factor in Barça's favour is the player's desire to return 'home'. He wants to play alongside Leo Messi and Luis Suarez, two close friends, and knows that he would feel comfortable as he looks to rediscover his best form.

Real Madrid CRANK UP THE PRESSURE

Real Madrid offered PSG €120m plus Luka Modric, the current Ballon d'Or winner, and offered to double Neymar's salary compared to what he's already agreed with Barça. They are confident that a deal can be struck with PSG to land the talented Brazilian.

The message from Barça towards Neymar is to keep tight and not rush a move elsewhere. It's clear he won't remain in Paris this season and PSG, up until this point, have blocked a move to the Camp Nou.

Once the Premier League's transfer window closed, the counter-attack from Barça involves adding players such as Philippe Coutinho who has a much higher market value than Modric (€90m to €20m).

A decision should be made on Neymar's future within the next few days

MOVEMENT

From here it all depends on Neymar. The Brazilian has been pressured by Barça to make a public statement about wanting a return to them and no one else. Of course, this would carry its own risk and should Barça and PSG fail to agree on terms for a transfer: Neymar would be forced to spend a third season in Paris.

The good side to a public declaration would essentially close the door on any potential move to Real Madrid. Neymar, however, doesn't want that. His priority is to leave and ideally re-join Barça, but the most important is to leave. It's going to be very complicated to secure a deal. And, if he doesn't, he would also need to explain why it didn't.
