Barça waiting on Luciano Vietto's final decision

The cards have been dealt and the decision is imminent.

Barça have made their move to sign Luciano Vietto, and await the decision taken by the footballer.

Vietto also has an offer from Sevilla on the table, a loan deal but one that would guarantee him of a starting place.

There are, however, hopes at the Camp Nou of their proposal being successful as Atletico are interested in selling and have accepted the Barcelona offer of 22 million euros, plus three million euros in bonuses.

As soon as the player gives his blessing, the deal will be complete.

NEGOTIATIONS CLOSED

Barça began to cast their net over Vietto, when they found that the signing of Kevin Gameiro was impossible.

Sevilla refused to negotiate for the player, and demanded the full release clause of 40 million euros.

The Catalan club were not prepared to pay this figure and decided to pursue the second option on their wishlist: Luciano Vietto.

Following the agreement with Atletico, Barça were also able to come to a quick understanding with the Argentine forward's agents regarding his prospective salary.

Vietto, though, has doubts.

He is young and wants to play a starring role this season. He knows that he would struggle for playing time at Barcelona, and he fears another year in the footballing wilderness.

Sevilla, on the other hand, would offer him regular starts, though they can not afford a permanent deal.

All parties are in a rush to get a deal done.

Atletico go on tour next week, and Vietto should not be in the travelling party.

Barça want him as soon as possible, and Sevilla are preparing for the European Super Cup.

Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli has been speaking to Vietto for days to try to convince him but is not so sure of success.

MEETING WITH HIS AGENTS

Vietto met his agents on Saturday night in Madrid to analyse the situation.

After the end of Atletico's first preparatory stage of pre-season, the Argentine dined with them to study his options.

He has to decide whether to wear the Blaugrana shirt next to Leo Messi, and gain footballing prestige, or join Sevilla as a starting forward.

Atletico are pressuring him to move to Catalunya as they want to bank the money from the sale.

Within the Barcelona offices, there is a confidence that the player will accept the challenge of joining them, but there is a slight uncertainty.

In the case of the player giving the green light, the transfer would be announced in a matter of hours, and he would travel immediately to Barcelona.

At the latest, the deal should be concluded on Monday.
