Barca target Stephan Lichsteiner considering Juventus stay

The Blaugrana want to replace Aleix Vidal in the winter window but one of their targets may be drifting out of range

Stephan Lichtsteiner could change his mind and decide to stay where he is in January. The Juventus right-back, according to the Italian press, is considering a contract renewal at the Turin club, which would put an end to speculation surrounding his future.

One of the teams affected would be FC Barcelona. For a while, the Swiss footballer, 32, has figured on a list of candidates to add depth to the right-back position at Camp Nou with Aleix Vidal set to leave the club in January.

Lichtsteiner is potentially available at an affordable cost — he is out of contract in the summer — and had become a target for all clubs that need to add strength and depth to their defences.

Barça have always felt Lichtsteiner is a player to keep in mind, but the club have also been keen to state that there are other names on the list, too. Some of those names feature above the veteran, even if he does become available in the winter marker.
