Barça to take Gerard Pique four-game ban appeal to the CAS

Barcelona continue to fight the four-game ban which was handed to Gerard Pique. The next step, after their initial appeal was rejected earlier this week, is to take the process to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), it has been reported by Cadena SER.

Barça feel the ban Pique is currently serving -- the second game of which he is due to miss against Malaga -- is excessive and hope that the CAS will agree with them. If so, Pique could be available for the third game of the season against Atletico Madrid on September 12 at the Vicente Calderon.

The Catalan club are convinced that the referee who sent Pique off for saying "I shit on your whore mother" to an official in a Spanish Super Cup game could not possible have heard the phrase. Pique denies saying those exact words and there is no evidence to prove he did say them.
