Barça striker Luis Suarez hopes to put knee problems behind him
Suarez is spending the next two weeks following a specific plan
He has been hampered by a knee injury since the Spanish Super Cup
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has not joined up with Uruguay this week in order to remain in Catalonia and work on rehabilitating his knee, with it even suggested before he would need an operation. That was ruled out, though, and Suarez is instead following a careful plan over these two weeks without club football.
Suarez has stayed in Barcelona and will not play for Uruguay in their friendly matches against Austria and Poland. The reason is that he needs to rest and follow a specific plan to ensure his knee problems go away and he can play normally once again, Suarez is keen to leave them behind and focus on re-finding his best form.
For that reason, this week he is working on his own with the club's specialists. Suarez has taken a step forward and hopes that he can finish 2017 strongly. Starting with Barça's trip to Leganes after the international break.
