Barça presidency candidate Josep Maria Bartomeu makes a secret top-flight signing

Josep Maria Bartomeu, former president of Barça and candidate for the approaching July 18th elections, has closed a deal for a Primera player whose name he will announce between six to eight days ahead of the vote.

Bartomeu has negotiated recently with the president of a Primera club in order to line up a player, who is a Spanish central midfielder. His identity will be unveiled by Bartomeu in the last week of his election campaign, according to sources close to the candidate.

The past president went personally to negotiate for the aforementioned player, who will be presented as a new Barça player if Bartomeu wins the elections on the 18th of July.

Although Bartomeu had hinted that he would not use possible signings as a way to be elected, the candidate spent the weekend finalising the details of the contract for his first signing if elected.
