Barça will appeal yellow cards shown to Suarez and Busquets

Barça are not happy with several decisions made by referee Jesus Gil Manzano on Tuesday

Barcelona are not in agreement with referee Gil Manzano's report with respect to Luis Suarez's red card and will appeal the decision.

They will also appeal a yellow card shown to Sergio Busquets for kicking a ball away -- when there were two on the pitch -- late on.

Uruguayan striker Suarez was sent off for a second booking in the 90th minute, ruling him out of the Copa del Rey final pending the appeal.

Gil Manzano accuses Suarez of not heeding to his order to leave the pitch, of "considerably delaying his departure." In addition, he also says he refused to retreat to the dressing rooms when told to do so by the fourth official.

"Once off the playing surface, he stayed on the stairs by the access to the tunnels watching the game until it ended, despite the fourth official communication on several occasions that he must go to the dressing rooms," Manzano wrote.

"Barcelona will appeal the booking given to Suarez in the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg after competing for the ball with Koke," a statement from the Catalan club said.

"According to the referee's report, Suarez was shown a second booking for 'striking an opposition player with his arm recklessly while fighting for the ball.'"

Curiously, it was Suarez's first red card as a Barcelona player and it comes at the worst time given it could now rule him out of the Copa del Rey final.

The former Liverpool forward scored the first goal in Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Atletico, his 23rd of the campaign.
