Barça meet with Adriano to agree player's departure

Full-back Adriano has met the heads of the Barça sporting area to reach a deal that will seal his departure from the club.

The Brazilian has returned to Barcelona to find a solution to his contractual situation, in the hope that he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

The player has a four-year contract offer from Lazio, and the club had been asking for a minimal fee from the Italian side.

Adriano does not understand how the club can try to retain him, as he believes he has always shown a good attitude, and Barça would save nearly seven million euros in wages with his exit.

He has agreed personal terms with Lazio but they will only sign him if there is no transfer fee. Common sense should prevail and the player's departure should be a matter of hours.

The Brazilian does not think he will see much playing time next season and the time is right to leave. Barça are not expected to sign a left-back in the case that Samuel Umtiti joins, as the French international can also play in that position.

Barcelona did meet with the agents of the Portuguese defender Raphael Guerreiro but any deal is a way off. If Adriano's departure is confirmed, the club may yet change their opinion on the matter.
