Barça keeping tabs on Marseille's Maxime Lopez & Monaco's Sidibe

SPORT has learned the Catalan club had scouts at Marseille v Monaco last weekend

As Luis Enrique constantly says, a club like FC Barcelona always have to keep an eye on the market and the young players that are coming through.

And in the case of Marseille's Maxime Lopez, the Blaugrana are on top of the situation. The French midfielder has been on the club's agenda for several months and they have followed his growth with interest over the last few weeks.

SPORT has learned that Barça sent various scouts to the Velodrome last weekend to watch Marseille-Monaco, which ended in a 1-4 win for the away side. Barça's objective was not just to watch Maxime Lopez, but also to check out Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe, who on this occasion played on the left side of defence.

Even though Marseille endured a disastrous night, Maxime had, at least, a hand in the goal, while Sidibe also created one of Monaco's goals.

Barcelona's scouts took note of what was a good night for both players. For the home side, Maxime was one of the bright points. The Frenchman led his side's midfield despite only being 19.

Meanwhile, Sidibe showed off his impressive physical attributes. In fact, his name was already linked with the Catalan club before Christmas. Save any surprises, there won't be moves for either player in January, but the club are now thinking about what business they want to do in the summer.
