AS: Barça have made an offer for Angel Correa

Barça continues to track the development of Atletico Madrid's Angel Correa and it's no secret that the club are looking in the transfer market for a player who can take the pressure of the "MSN".

Given that Gabriel Jesus doesn't want to leave Palmeiras until December and Jorge Sampaoli continues to block a move for Kevin Gameiro to leave Sevilla, the Blaugrana are seeking other alternatives.

AS published the interest of Barça's sporting director, Robert Fernandez, in Correa on Thursday and it's believed that Atletico rejected the first offer from the Catalan club. The Rojiblancos appear to be under the illusion that the Argentinian is an important part of Diego Simeone's future plans.

Sources close to Barça told AS: "[Correa] has tremendous talent and a romance with the goal when he has confidence."

Correa - who joined the Rojiblancos in December 2014 from San Lorenzo - has played 38 games this season under Simeone, scoring eight goals and reaching four assists. The 21-year-old is one of the players selected to compete with Argentina at the Olympic Games this summer in Rio.
