Barça defender Samuel Umtiti begins 'conservative treatment' in Qatar
The France international is doing all he can to avoid surgery
Samuel Umtiti has begun treatment in Qatar with the aim of ending his knee problems, which have seen him miss a number of games this season.
The French defender is hopeful the specialist treament he is receiving will save him from having to undergo surgery.
After a month out with the issue, he returned to action against Atletico Madrid. However, he broke down after that game and, after a chat with Ernesto Valverde, who wants him back as soon as possible but without risks, he decided to follow the treatment path.
Diario AS revealed that the club would prefer surgery to end the issue once and for all, but Umtiti is fighting that option.
Now, in Qatar, his 'conservative treatment', as the club called it, has begun. Time will tell if he has taken the best route.
