Barça confirm Pique will be out for three weeks; Jordi Alba, two weeks

Both defenders were injured against Manchester City and won't be back until November

Barcelona have confirmed on Thursday the exact length of time Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba will be out for.

The centre-back will miss three weeks with an ankle problem which he suffered in the win over Manchester City, while the left-back will be sidelined for two weeks with a hamstring injury.

Both went off in the first half of their side's 4-0 success over Man City in the Champions League on Wednesday.

"Tests realised this morning have confirmed that Pique has a sprained ankle and will be out for around three weeks," a statement from the Catalan club read.

It added: "Tests realised this morning have confirmed that Alba has a hamstring strain. He will be out for approximately two weeks."

WHAT THEY WILL MISS

Pique will miss the games against Valencia (Oct. 22), Espanyol (Catalan Super Cup, Oct. 25), Granada (Oct. 29), City (Nov. 1) and Sevilla (Nov. 6). He is also a doubt for Spain's November international break.

Alba, meanwhile, could return for the game againsr Sevilla on Nov. 6 and should be available for Spain.
