The coach seemed annoyed at being voted 13th on L'Equipe's list of top managers

He also avoided questions on Malaga, Real Madrid and Quique Sanchez Flores

Luis Enrique is in his final weeks as Barcelona manager and he's not hiding the fact he's looking forward, in some regards, to ending a period which has worn him down. The tension between him and the media remains and was once again evident in the press conference ahead of the Espanyol game, when he left offended after being asked about L'Equipe's list of the world's best managers. Lucho is in 13th place on a list headed by Pep Guardiola and the Barça coach didn't take the question well.

After ironically saying "I love 13th place" he got up and left the table and, now without the microphine, directed the following at the journalists: "Not long to go now." It was all accompanied by a sarcastic smile to the amazement of those in the press room. An extravagant reaction that caused stupor.

AVOIDS ALL CONTROVERSY

Luis Enrique's time at Barça is coming to an end but he still manages to avoid getting involved in controversy. On Friday, during a brief press conference, he was asked about the saga involving Malaga presdient Al-Thani and manager Michel. However, he obviously didn't want to indulge the question.

Nor did he want to speak about the lack of a pre-game handshake with Espanyol boss Quique Sanchez Flores, a pre-game Catalan derby tradition. "I have absolutely no interest in these things which aren’t to do with sporting side of match,” he said, following the same line as in his three years in charge at Camp Nou.

He also didn't want to talk about anything to do with Madrid's run-in: "I will not get into this game you’re trying to play. We just need to focus on what we can do, each team has to do their job and we have to to do our job."
