Barça captain Xavi is in Qatar ahead of summer move to Al Sadd

The end of the Xavi Hernandez era is soon to be a reality. The Barcelona midfielder is set to move to Qatar side Al Sadd in the summer for a deal worth around €10million a season.

This Friday he has been seen in Qatar, where he was photographed with some children who didn't want to miss the chance to get snapped with him. 

Xavi has played more games than any other Barcelona players, with them coming over 16 seaons at the club.

At 35, though, he has decided to leave the club and take on a new challenge at Al Sadd

There, Xavi will form part of the first team squad, although he will also be invloved in the Aspire academy, which is forming players for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. 

He will take over the role which former Real Madrid man Raul Gonzalez had been fulfilling. 

Official figures have still not been revealed, but it is anticipated Xavi will earn €30million for a three year deal in Qatar, with the option of adding a further year.
