Barça boss Luis Enrique: "We need to work on our mistakes"

Luis Enrique has blamed mistakes for Barcelona's defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Lionel Messi and Neymar were on target for Barça, while Xavi became the competition's record appearance holder, but goals from David Luiz, Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi helped Laurent Blanc's side to a 3-2 win.

However, Luis Enrique feels that Barça were to blame for their downfall.

"PSG were able to take advantage of our mistakes," he said after watching his side lose and concede for the first time since he took over in the summer.

"They were individual mistakes, there were times when we took the wrong decision.

"We need to analyse them."

The Asturian also praised the French champions for their part in the game, though, suggesting they could win the competition.

"I said before the game that PSG are a team that can win the Champions League, like us," he continued.

"I didn't have any doubt about it and they confirmed that tonight.

"We could have got a draw, that would have been a fair result too, but PSG are a great opponent.

"Football is a game of mistakes and they took advantage of ours."

Finally, Luis Enrique was pressed on whether he held his central defenders, Javier Mascherano and Jeremy Mathieu, and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen responsible for the loss.

"When you lose, it's about the team," he concluded.

"And the final responsibility stops with the coach."
