Barca boss Luis Enrique declares: Paco Alcacer or nobody
Luis Enrique and the Barcelona board are clear: either the club sign Paco Alcacer in what remains of the transfer window or there will no additions up front until at least January.
No other names, no other negotiations. There’s agreement that Luis Enrique’s current squad has the necessary resources to move forward without the need to force transfers. Barça will make one final push to convince Valencia to sell them Alcacer and he could become the club’s final outfield signing of the summer.
If that deal does not go through, though, Luis Enrique is happy to continue with Munir El Haddadi and the ‘new’ Arda Turan for the next few months. In any case, there’s always the chance to then bring someone in in the winter window if there are players available then.
The response from the team has been fantastic at the start of the new season and Luis Enrique doesn’t want to disrupt that with hurried signings who will need a period of adaption.
