Barça and Real Madrid would be worth 2.5 billion euros on the stock market

A report has confirmed that if FC Barcelona and Real Madrid floated on the stock market, they would be valued at 2.52 billion euros and 2.59 billion euros respectively.

In the story published on the 'El Economista' website, it states:

"With this capitalisation, they would ascend to 32nd position on the Ibex35 and overtake brands such as Viscofan, Indra and Tecnicas Reunidas."

However, for now, neither Barça nor Real Madrid can float as first they would need to transform themselves into PLCs, as all other La Liga clubs have done, apart from Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna.

Neither of the big two contemplate this conversion as they each belong to their respective members.

The report also states that Manchester United, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are the three most highly-valued football clubs and that amongst their assets are "intangibles such as the brands and capacity to generate income, and other tangible ones such as their sporting installations."
