Barça accelerate move for a right-back after Real Madrid defeat

Juanfran and Rosales remain the top targets as Barcelona prepare to travel to Atletico

Barcelona's game at the Vicente Calderon could be deciisve in the title race, but also in in terms of their plans of making a signing to replace the injured Aleix Vidal.

The Catalan club have various names on the table. Hector Bellerin is the preferred option for the summer. But Juanfran (Deportivo) and Rosales (Malaga) are the two players who could join immediately. The motive being that Luis Enrique needs a right-back for the decisive phase of the season.

The 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain was a hammer blow for Barça. Among other details, it left clear that Sergi Roberto may not have a long-term future at right-back. Good as he's been there, he's come up short in the big games.

From there, Barça decided to accelerate their move to sign a full-back if they remained in the Champions League, but above all if they remained in the title race. A win at the Calderon, combined with Real Madrid's defeat to Valencia, would allow them to feel like genuine contenders again.

Juanfran is the best placed in this case, ahead of Rosales -- and without losing side of Bellerin in the summer.
